Ten years of grind. One wrong keybind.
Leo “Laggy” Lagos has spent ten years grinding Counter-Strife from a bedroom in Bufferton, the town with the worst internet in the country. On 150 ms of ping he learned to shoot where enemies will be, and it took him all the way to Top 1. Now a pro team wants him, a drama streamer says he’s cheating, and his best friend is starting to feel left behind. Eight rounds, one Major, and one keybind he should never have touched.
Leo grew up in Bufferton, the town with the worst internet in the country, and learned to play on 150 ms of ping. So he shoots where enemies will be. Shy in real life, a screaming, trash-talking menace in-game, and never without Betty, his lucky mouse.
One more game.
Every legend starts somewhere. For Leo it was a CRT at Ping Palace, a best friend at the next PC and a dream far too big for his connection. You’ll meet him in the demo replays.
Tall, braces, cap on backwards. Benny always dies first, and he’s always the loudest one cheering when Leo wins. Every great player needs someone who believes in them before anyone else does.
HE’S ONE!
Powered by energy drinks and config files. Ozzy wrote his first script at 12 and once gave Betty RGB. Nobody asked. If something can be automated, Ozzy has already automated it.
I can script that.
While Leo hunts headshots, Nadia wins rounds with smokes and flashes. She’s already signed to a pro team, she’s Leo’s favourite target in chat, and she’s better than him at the part of the game nobody films.
Aim is cheap. Smokes are forever.
Helena saves lives all night and comes home to a son who’s still on the PC. She has one weapon nobody in the house can counter: the Wi-Fi password.
Not ‘after this round.’
Rui runs Bufferton’s LAN café, a place stuck in 2004, CRTs included. Back in the day he was “top 3 in the country” in 1.6. Just ask him. He’ll tell you anyway.
Back in 1.6…
Bia’s phone is always recording. Her brother’s meltdowns? Content. Family dinner? Content. Leo’s big moment? Definitely content.
That’s content.
A big gray cat who sleeps on the warm PC and walks across keyboards at the worst possible moments. Smokey has thrown more rounds than any player in Bufferton.
The oldest player on Overtime and the calmest voice on comms. Viktor has seen a hundred hotshot rookies come and go. He doesn’t need the fastest aim on his team. He needs someone who listens.
Trust the call.
Dirk used to play. Now he watches other people’s clips frame by frame and tells his chat who’s cheating. Being right is optional. Views are not.
